SensorOcean.com is an IoT platform designed and built by Edgica — a product that transforms raw sensor data into managed, data-rich applications. It supports everything from industrial device networks to DIY prototyping projects, with a plug-and-play approach that minimises setup complexity.
Challenge
Most IoT projects face the same problem: the devices are the easy part. The hard part is building the software layer — reliable ingestion of sensor data, meaningful visualisation, workflow automation, multi-user access, and open integration with other systems. Building this from scratch for every project is expensive and slow.
SensorOcean was built to solve this generically: a reusable platform that any IoT project can connect to, configure, and extend.
Solution
Edgica designed and developed the full platform, covering cloud and edge deployment scenarios:
- Device connectivity — any IoT device connects via MQTT broker; full compatibility with MySensors open-source hardware (Arduino, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, NRF24L01+, RFM69)
- Data pipeline — high-performance controller processes time-series data both in the cloud and at the edge
- Visualisation & dashboards — network maps, charts, and configurable dashboards for monitoring sensor data
